ECE PowerLunch
About ECE Corporate PowerLunch
ECE Corporate PowerLunch enables recruiters to take a small group of ECE students to lunch and talk about job opportunities and career paths. It's a great way for recruiters to get to know students better in an informal setting, and students appreciate the chance to discuss their academic achievements and career aspirations outside of a formal interview. To set up a lunch, recruiters should submit an e-mail inquiry to katsinas@uiuc.edu.
PowerLunch format and cost
Typically, a recruiter takes about eight students to lunch at the Illini Union Ballroom. Recruiters need to let the department know the date they wish to host a lunch and the type of students (areas of interest) they want to meet with. ECE will handle all arrangements with students and make the lunch reservation at the Ballroom. Recruiters and students meet at the Ballroom at the designated time. The cost for lunch at the Ballroom is $7.95 per person - no discount for students. The Ballroom requires payment for lunch at the time of service.
For those recruiters who prefer to meet with students in a more private setting there is a box lunch option. Recruiters can host a lunch for up to 12 students in room 159 Everitt Lab. This room is equipped with an overhead projector. If you choose this option, ECE will handle all the arrangements with the students, reserve room 159 for you, and order the box lunches. The cost for the box lunches and room reservation is $15 per person. The ECE department will invoice recruiters after the lunch.
