Email Account Options
1. CITES Express Mail
CITES offers an Express Email account to all campus staff, faculty, and students. Current quotas are 100MB for students and 150MB for faculty and staff. CITES Express Mail is easily accessible through the secure web interface at https://express.cites.uiuc.edu.2. Microsoft Exchange Account
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering also offers Microsoft Exchange accounts to faculty and staff, free of charge. Graduate students may obtain an account with permission of their adviser. Mail quotas for Exchange accounts begin at 200MB for grad students, 500MB for staff, and 1GB for faculty. Accounts are accessible online at https://exchange.ad.uiuc.edu. Additionally, email clients such as Microsoft Outlook may be configured to read mail in Exchange accounts. - CTS recommends CITES Spam Control to help reduce the amount of spam received and to eliminate known viruses. By signing up for this free tool, users are able to decide how they want to be notified of potential spam messages.
- Please use netid@uiuc.edu as the email address you advertise. Viruses and spam will not be filtered from other addresses, such as netid@express.uiuc.edu, and if you change your email account type in the future, you will not have to advertise a different address.
